by Firefox user 15950945, 6 years agoRight-click options do not work for me in the feed tree on the left side, just the normal menu with Firefox options "Reload tab" etc. and several other things show up but nothing concerning Feedbro. So it is not possible to change the settings for the number of entries wanted for several feeds for example and I cannot see this setting anywhere else, the general settings only give the option for a maximum of 100 entries for feeds but no option for differentiating the entries for single feeds as far I can see
Smart as I am I think that I have found a workaround :-) Going through Statistics > Properties one gets the same window as when creating a new feed with the options for the maximum number of wanted entries etc. but is this the way meant to be ? Another option would be to delete single feeds and create them again with new settings but this would be annoying of course so the main thing "right-click does not work in the feed tree here" remains in spite of this workaround

posted 6 years agoIf feed tree right-click doesn't work, it's because of your Firefox settings. See section F7 in the Known Issues file.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Gormadt, 2 days agoIt would have remained a 5 for me but YouTube feeds now only give me the "Error 153" popup whenever I try to watch a video. This has persisted for MONTHS now and there hasn't been a fix yet.
I've also noticed that the add-on was last updated 3/24/2024 (over 2 years ago at time of review) so I'm presuming this add-on is now dead in the water, which is a shame. - Rated 3 out of 5by strok3, 10 days agoLack of backup/sync option make migration to another profile/fresh install a total pita, besides loosing all your bookmarked articles. No sync with other services.

- Rated 3 out of 5by ella, 2 months agoI LOVE this addon but it needs more themes for modern aesthetics. You get black, white, dark blue, or dark brown? I would love more variety. Grays, beige, or pastels (like a like blue or light green). Or color across the top + white on the bottom.

- Rated 5 out of 5by pnhan, 3 months agoThere are few utilities as comprehensive as this one, supporting so many news feeds, so many viewing modes, but it's free!!
There have been some recent changes related to Youtube embedded links, and I wonder if it is possible to write plugins for this addon (if it supports API) to get better feeds from Facebook groups or personal pages (instead of "scraping" public data like currently, very limited in content and rate limited).
Looking forward to receiving updates and feedback from the developer soon!!
A great utility that I have already recommended to my friends! - Rated 3 out of 5by Celtice, 3 months agoIt's a really great tool when set-up works out and the feeds continue to update. I've had problems though, like an error 398 with a couple feeds on the same website, and I can't figure out what it means---I have no clue if it's an issue with the website or the extension. Regardless, RSS feeds might be a "dying breed", but like the radio, it's an integral tool to preserve, and I enjoy being able to check the websites/blogs/social media pages that I care about, with fewer distractions and bouncing between sites.
- Rated 1 out of 5by fridakozari, 3 months agoOn Firefox 146.0.1 for Ubuntu number of all and unread articles are not updated when new articles are fetched. It seems that data for earlier fetched articles is somehow overwritten, items are disappearing.
I've also tweaked the available settings - no help.
I'd join the earlier reviews that maintenance of this addon is lagging behind.
I like the idea to handle my RSS feeds in my web browser, I also like the looks and features of this addon, but now I am switching to another solution. - Rated 3 out of 5by binomialtie7087, 4 months agoGood simple rss/atom feed reader. it works as a browser extension so doesn't require logging in to some server hosted platform that trys to push you to pay for a better version of itself, whilst also not being a complex hard to understand self-hosted thingy. decent amount of customisability with 4 colour themes and several layouts. unfortunately it doesn't allow for subfolders, but ive managed around that. also recently embedded youtube videos no longer work which suucks, brings my review down from what probably wouldve been a four or five to three!

- Rated 1 out of 5by t'svai, 5 months agohave used this for years to follow a variety of types of feeds, and it worked great until now. i especially like that i can manually drag-and-drop sort my folders and feeds, (which most other readers i've tried don't allow). it was a very good extension-based rss reader *while it was still fully functional*.
however, within the last few weeks or so, embeds in youtube feeds have stopped functioning and all return error 153.
this extension and many of nodetics' other extensions haven't been updated in multiple years (which didn't bother me until things started breaking... and still no updates came), and some reviews for some of their extensions indicate that the developers are no longer responsive to support emails. it's hard to say for absolute certain, but it seems likely that feedbro's development has been abandoned, which means that even more things - eventually important things - may break as time goes on.
for this reason, i'm lowering my review score, but will raise it again if extension development shows any signs of life in the future. with things as they are now - stuff breaking with no sign of maintenance updates - i can't recommend this extension to anyone.
