I've been using it for a while, and am generally pleased with what it does and the near complete problem-free functioning over time. It plays nicely with uBO and LocalCDN which provide a couple of the same features that this extension provides.
One problem has popped up with recent versions of Firefox though. Since there's been no update for this extension since February 2025, the cause may be those recent Firefox updates. As of writing this review, I'm using Firefox 149.0 (aarch64) on macOS 26.4. I do not have it installed in my Firefox Developer Edition install, and I do not use Chrome, so I am reporting this for the standard production Firefox releases.
I do not want to create a GitLab account to report a single issue and for no other reason as all my development is done using repos hosted on Codeberg and GitHub.
The problem: The context menu item for "Copy Clean Link Location" rarely if ever works now. It used to. It rarely if ever adds anything to the clipboard, even the unmodified, original link I'm trying to get a cleaned copy of. The few times I do get something when using the context menu item, key parameters meant to be removed by the extension are left in the URL that is added to the clipboard. But actually getting a copied link rarely works, and all that using it does is leave my clipboard untouched with the previously copied data ready to be pasted.
Fix that context menu issue and this is a five-star extension. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14867242, a month agoIt's pretty good, but I'd like it to clean ?curator_clanid=xxx from Steam links as well which it currently does not do.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Anonymous User, 2 months agoWorks, but breaks a few things, such as Google's AI overview.

but white list/exclusion list/exception list is missing. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12215118, 5 months agoHat für mich ohne spezielle Konfiguration gut funktioniert, nur der Preiswecker-Link von Idealo funktioniert aktuell (2025-11-11) mit ClearURLs nicht (Firefox zeigt einen Json-Fehler statt der Seite). Daher habe ich ClearURLs erst mal deaktiviert.

- Rated 4 out of 5by EdTheShed, 8 months agoI really like this extension, but unfortunately it prevents the Google AI Overview from working on Google searches. An ability to except certain websites would be highly appreciated! :)

- Rated 4 out of 5by Terravine, 9 months agoSeems alright overall, but stopped working with bing, and blocked the ability to receive Microsoft rewards. Had to uninstall. Would be nice if there was a whitelist.

- Rated 4 out of 5by jcfyre, a year agoVERY good extension. But as of recently when I try to access the logs in ClearURLs it gives me this message: “The page at ClearURLs says:
DataTables warning: table id=logTable - i18n file loading error. For more information about this error, please see datatables net/tn/21” I left https out of net/tn/21 since mozilla doesnt allow URLs in reviews. I am not sure what to do. Also, on both the desktop and mobile versions of this extension, changing the color for the theme in ClearURL settings never actually changes it, but rather just keeps resetting back to orange no matter the selection. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13212439, a year ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Sam Fleer, a year agoIt does the job, but for the last few weeks there were some problems I noticed. When I was searching in DuckDuckGo, the URL was flickering for some reason (the lines after "&" was appearing and disappearing). But it didn't affect my experience so it was fine. However I also had trouble logging in to Crunchyroll and was getting Error 500. At the time I didn't know what was causing the error, but when I temporarily turned off this extension I was able to login again.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon 🙏 - Rated 4 out of 5by Vinícius, a year ago
